UPCOMING EVENTS

Dragon boating is a fast, fun and furious team based paddling sport. Its origins can be traced back 2500 years ago to ancient China where races played an important role during religious ceremonies and festivals.

Across the world today thousands of paddlers, from the ages of twelve to over sixty, compete in various events from local social races to huge international regattas. Whether it be for fitness, friends, competition or fun, dragon boating caters for all!

Mudgee MudDragons have been operating since 2013, firstly paddling on the beautiful Cudgegong River, Lawson Park and since the beginning of 2017, paddling has taken place at Windamere Dam, 30kms south of Mudgee. We have a dragon boat in each location.

Paddlers have competed at various regattas including Orange, Bathurst, Mudgee and Chinese New Year at Darling Harbour. Our club has had paddlers participate in the Ord River Challenge, Tasmania’s Huon River Challenge, Lake Windamere 20km Challenge, a cultural exchange in China and The Australian Master Games.
